Wednesday night I came home to a power-outage at Dad's and had to pee in the dark. The situation brought a whole new round of unfortunate events that made me laugh my head off. Not the peeing part....... just...... nevermind.
I spent my night doing some devo's on Dylan's bed with nothing but a candle and some South Park figurines to my right-- that I hate so much, I debated whether I should even capitalize them as proper nouns. After about three minutes I tilted the candle towards my Bible like an idiot, and it burned out.
Duh, Chloe.
My back-up-plan was a dude named Squirt who light's up when you hit 'em hard enough. Unfortunately, his battery died within three minutes. So I read Psalms 139 to the light of my phone that dims every twelve seconds.
The end.
--Scratch that. The real end of this hilarious pitiful story was when I laid down in Dylan's bed, which Jalyn sprayed cologne all over, to cover the dog smell. It worked I suppose, I just wasn't too fond of sleeping in 'Alagator--for men'.
When Sunday came around, it brought all sorts of birthday feels. I woke up and walked through a spider web of cling wrap and purple balloons. Sam and I celebrated later by throwing knives all over the scene 'til everything popped (let me re-phrase, he partied with the knife... I stood on the bed like there was a rat running around, then cleaned up the mess). My phone blew up with birthday wishes from near and far.
After Sam's soccer game, everyone sang Happy Birthday to Jack and I on the sidelines and the celebrations continued all the way to T.J Chumps, where we were cheated by stupid machines in the game room (which still owe me two-hundred tickets by the way).
I celebrated my special day with my second family, who had pizza and mac and cheese (ofcourse) waiting for the Birthday Girl. Turning sixteen back in my hometown was as close as it gets to perfect. And my new hope-chest is HUGE in comparison to starting drivers-ed.
It's strange to think there's still more to come, but oddly enough I'm not anxiously waiting to blow out any candles.
No wishes needed here.....
