Illuminating.

The morning I left Ohio, the sun showed its face for the first time since I'd been there.

Rain had left a dreary mood lingering around all weekend, so I followed the light wherever it decided to lead me that day. It took me to the barn, where I found it in every window. Floating in the dust. Shining its way past dark pig ears.

In the kitchen, leaving its light on my mother. Coming through the windows, brushing through the curtains and resting on my brother's arm and Sadie's fur. Melting the frost and the winter hearts.

It had a certain welcome about it. It left me happy, almost relieved. This is home, I thought.

It made and continues to make me thankful to Jesus for this beautiful mess of a life I'm still trying to figure out.
